Introduction:
I had the pleasure of living in Asia for over a year - South Korea and Japan - and I noticed a significant problem with making connections. It’s a different world, with a different culture and issues; people face many situations I had not encountered on such a scale before. I attended numerous events, met many entrepreneurs, and observed the environment.

Problem:
Making connections in South Korea is difficult. In most cases, if someone approaches you on the street, they are considered strange. Additionally, there’s shyness, judgment based on appearance, and social pressure. Many people go to clubs to meet someone, but often you see them sitting on their phones. They also don’t socialize in clubs the way people do in Europe. There’s also an issue with trust and the authenticity of information.
Apps like Tinder or Bumble often allow for creating profiles that are fake, edited photos, or no photos at all. In reality, people look different in person. Ghosting is common, and conversations often do not continue after matching. There are many problems that won’t be easy to solve, especially since Tinder already has a large user base, making it hard to encourage people to try a new app of this type.

Solution:
I have currently developed a concept and solutions to these problems, focusing on offline meetings and authenticity. We have completed the app design, which we are currently testing in South Korea with users and listening to their feedback. We are operating using the Lean Startup method, limiting the time spent on the app to create concrete solutions that meet user needs.
Further information is currently unavailable due to security reasons and ongoing work on the project. If we successfully finish the product, this page will be updated. As of today (October 30, 2024), these are the only details I can share.
We are moving forward!

Redesign:

I am currently working on a redesign based on user feedback. Here are some key elements that have emerged from these consultations:

- Registration Process Change: We are placing a strong emphasis on user verification, introducing the option to verify identity using an ID or passport.
- Removal of the "Refer a Friend" feature: Users prefer to test the app first and don’t want to share it until they feel comfortable with it. Some also prefer privacy, especially when their goal is to meet new people.
- Additional Incentives for Users: After consulting with a bar/club in Korea, we were able to offer discounts on alcohol/food for our users. Additionally, we will introduce a feature that allows users to see who will be at an event before attending (available for premium users).
- AI Chatbot for Psychological Analysis: Based on the results of psychological tests, the chatbot will help match users more accurately, improving the quality of interactions and increasing the chances of finding suitable people.
- Changes to User Profiles: Initially, we planned to display three profiles on one screen (scrollable), but after discussions, we decided to show two profiles in the basic version. Additionally, user profiles will now include more detailed information - not just a photo, name, and job, but also hobbies, preferences, and compatibility to better understand users.
- Color Scheme Change: We are changing the color scheme from green to a more professional black/blue, which better reflects the app’s character.
- Removal of Income Information: After conversations with users, we decided to remove this section, as many users prefer not to share this information.
- Shift in the App’s Focus: We want the app to primarily serve as a tool for making new friends, with the potential for relationships to evolve into love or business connections later on.
Other features and changes are still being developed and refined. We are excited about the progress so far and will keep you updated as we move forward!
